Isleta's New Resort Hotel Opening Soon

July 1, 2008, ISLETA PUEBLO, NM — Isleta Casino and Resort will soon become "The Place to Play and the Place to Stay!"

The construction of Isleta Casino & Resort's new Hotel and Convention Center continues at a rapid pace as Tribal and resort officials look forward to a July Grand Opening. The hotel being built adjacent to New Mexico's premier casino will include a 24-hour caf, a steakhouse, an Asian bistro, an indoor pool, a fitness room, a full-service spa, a children's oriented recreation center and more than 30,000 square feet of ballroom and meeting space.

"Everything seems to be right on track," said Isleta General Manager Rodney Ferguson. "The weather has cooperated so we're on schedule to open this summer.

"This hotel is important part of our plan to build a true destination resort," he continued. "Soon we'll have people from all over the US coming to enjoy our many diverse entertainment and recreation facilities for days or weeks at a time. The huge ballroom plus our fabulous banquet facilities in our new golf clubhouse means that we'll also be able to attract large meetings and conventions."

The hotel will feature more than 200 beautifully appointed rooms and suites built to provide what Ferguson calls "casual elegance, supreme comfort and warm hospitality". The architecture is highlighted by a 5-story wall of glass in the lobby area and a very unique structure that will house the area's newest nightclub, built in the shape of Isleta Pueblo pottery.

"The hotel is another piece of our economic development plans for Isleta Pueblo," said Isleta's Governor Richard Benavidez. "In just the last few years, we've opened the highly successful Fun Connection recreational area, expanded and improved the beautiful fishing areas at Isleta Lakes and opened what we feel is the finest golf clubhouse in the state. We know that the hotel complex will encourage people to enjoy all of our new facilities."

The hotel will be located south of the casino, which is just off of Interstate 25's exit 215, just minutes south of Albuquerque. The facility's architect is the Cunningham Group, with project management being provided by Parsons - 3D/I. Hunt / Bradbury is the general contractor for the project.
